Let me start by introducing myself, I am Dr Jim Hendricks and the name of my practice is Freeport Integrated Health Center P.A. which is located in Freeport, by the Big Indian totem. I am originally from the mid-coast area of Maine and left to undertake my undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. From there I went on to do my Chiropractic training at National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. As well as being a doctor I am also a nationally certified strength conditioning specialist. I have been in practice in Freeport for the past 10 years, which leads me to my second thought. I want to publically say THANK YOU to all my patients for making my practice a success over the past 10 years. I could not have done it with out all your support.

It would be honest to say that not all Chiropractors are the same, nor do they practice the same way. I would say I am a pretty “straight shooter” and follow a fairly standard medical approach to the care of my patients without prescribing drugs. Each facet of the health care system has its place and purpose and I will be the first to say that I cannot heal everything. A good friend of mine, whom is an M.D., once gave me some very good advice: “Be smart enough to know what you don’t know.” The focus areas of my practice are musculoskeletal injuries which include the treatment of sports injuries, work, personal or auto related injuries or any injury that pertains to the joints or muscles of the body for that matter. Chiropractors do not just treat the spine alone; that is a big misconception that many people have. I emphasize a “total” approach to treatment and focus on the patient “as a whole” in my effort to give the best care I can provide and for my patients to achieve a better quality of life.

The human body is a living breathing machine. Like any other machine it needs regular care and maintenance to unsure that it is good working order. The best analogy I can give is when the “check engine light” comes on in your car, how long do you wait before taking the car to the garage? The same should be true of your body. I continually hear the same broken record from patients, “I thought that it would just go away.” Always remember that pain is the last symptom of injury or dysfunction, not the first. I feel that by exercising and maintaining a “healthy” lifestyle in moderation, you can maintain a high quality of life. Fall off the wagon and then…well everyone knows what happens when you fall of the wagon.

I have always believed that you should give 100% to everything you do in life, if you don’t; the only person that you are cheating is yourself. Here at the office we pride ourselves on our patient care, new patients are seen on the same day as they call and the patient wait time is never more than 5-10 minutes, your time is just as important was mine. I welcome the opportunity to help you with most any health condition, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail with questions. If we cannot provide you with the care that you need, I will make sure that you get the appropriate health provider who can. I look forward to meeting you. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
